Description
Keep in mind that the Surfing competition for the 2024 Olympics will take place in Tahiti.
This project is all about love, surfing, the ocean—and the legendary wave known around the world as Teahupo’o.
I had the incredible opportunity to spend two weeks there during the 2003 World Championship, invited by the one and only Linda Hardy.
To mark the 21st anniversary of that unforgettable journey, I’ve decided to release this special opus in 2024, perfectly timed with the Paris Olympics.
Back then, top surf legends like Kelly Slater and many more were competing at Teahupo’o.
Of course, Tahiti wouldn’t be the same without its breathtaking beauty and the stunning women who represent it. Linda Hardy, Miss France 1992, was there, along with the Tahitian contestants for Miss France 2003.
We were lucky to have Mareva Georges, Miss France 1991, as our gracious guide throughout the trip.
Our journey was made possible thanks to Air Tahiti Nui, who kindly invited us.
The exquisite black pearls featured in Tahiti Surf, the book, come from the prestigious Robert Wan House, a pioneer in pearl farming in French Polynesia. These treasures are cultivated on Mr. Wan’s private island, Marutea, a hidden paradise few have seen.
And above all, let’s not forget the warmth, generosity, and spirit of the Tahitian people, truly unforgettable.
